An evening with the Brooklyn Art Song Society and poets Diane Seuss and Robin Richardson
May 31, 2018, 7:00 PM
Poets Diane Seuss (Finalist, Pulitzer Prize) and Robin Richardson (Editor, Minola Review) discuss their newest releases, Still Life with Two Dead Peacocks and a Girl and Sit How You Want. Diane and Robin have both had their poetry set to music by the Brooklyn Art Song Society, and are joined by Artistic Director Michael Brofman and composer Kurt Rohde, whose new work It Wasn't a Dream (based on poetry by Diane Seuss) will receive its world-premiere at National Sawdust on June 1st. A fascinating discussion on the cross section of poetry and music, which includes readings from the poets works and samples from the musical pieces they inspired.
