The Congregation Beth Elohim Refugee Task Force in partnership with the Community Bookstore will be staging Undocumented. Unaccompanied. Unwelcome., an immigrant advocacy event, in the Sanctuary Building at the Synagogue at 274 Garfield Place in Park Slope. 

Valeria Luiselli, author of Tell Me How It Ends: An Essay In 40 Questions, will headline the event, which will begin with Ms. Luiselli reading from her book, followed by a panel discussion of immigration issues and ways we can individually and collectively assist the immigrant community. 

The panel will consist of:

Valeria Luiselli, 
Claire Thomas, Director of Asylum Clinic, New York Law School, 
Marilyn Alvarado, the child of immigrants from El Salvador and Honduras, 
Diana Chacon, DACA recipient from Peru, 
Angie Kim, Community Organizing Fellow at Minkown Center. 

After the event, there will be opportunities to sign up to volunteer with immigrant aid organizations, including Damayan, RiF, Center for Family Life, First Friends of NY and NJ, and more.
